Former Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua has welcomed Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino to his DCP Party if they are ejected from the ODM Party.

Speaking on December 3, Gachagua claimed that President William Ruto has plans to remove the two leaders from ODM.

He stated that Sifuna has performed well as the Nairobi Senator and that he is ready to give him the DCP Party ticket to defend his seat.

“We have heard that Ruto does not want Sifuna in ODM. Sifuna, I want to tell you, my brother, if Ruto sends you away from ODM, you are welcome to DCP. Sifuna is a great Senator in Nairobi, and I have no problem with DCP supporting him as the Senator of Nairobi,” Gachagua said.

Message to Babu Owino

He alleged that Ruto also has plans to dismiss Babu Owino from the ODM Party.

“Babu Owino, if Ruto chases you away, this is your home. Come home,” Gachagua said.

Gachagua Asks Sifuna and Babu Owino to Join Wiper

Gachague went ahead to ask Babu Owino and Sifuna to join Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper party if they feel uncomfortable in DCP.

He emphasized that DCP is a party for patriots like them, but they can join if they leave the ODM party.

“DCP is a party for Kenyan patriots; great leaders like Sifuna have space here. If you feel uncomfortable with DCP, Babu Owino, and Sifuna, come to Wiper, our partner,” he said.

However, he said President Riuto has no political base in Nairobi and the two risk losing their seats if they work with him in 2027.

Gachagua said the Nairobi seats will be divided between the United Opposition parties based on their strengths in each constituency.
