Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has raised alarm over his safety after a bullet was fired and hit his neighbor’s house in Kibiku.

The incident happened on November 30th, 2025, in the afternoon when the Governor was inspecting his home.

The bullet was launched through the rooftop and landed near the child’s bed.

Wamatangi ‘s neighbor said she heard a loud sound before discovering a bullet was launched in his house.

“This bullet, according to how the experts were talking—although we are still waiting for the final report—they say it was fired from a large gun like an AK-47. That means from where we are standing now, it is about 50 metres from my house. The person who was shooting was about 200 or 300 metres away. So the question is, this happened during the day and not at night,” Wamatangi stated.

Wamatangi Sends Message to Security Agencies

Kiambu Governor has called out the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, to act swiftly, as local security agencies have been delayed in producing updates on the matter.

Meanwhile, the Kiambu County Majority leader, Godfrey Mucheke, backed Wamatangi ‘s concerns, alleging threats from high-profile political figures, and urged national security organs to protect the governor and his allies.

“What could be the reason for a gunshot landing near the governor’s residence when security agencies are close by and don’t respond?” Godfrey said.
