CAK Extends Deadline for Vacant Positions

The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has announced an extension of the application deadline for multiple vacant positions, giving job seekers additional time to submit their applications.

In a public notice titled “Advertisement of Vacant Positions – Extension of Application Deadline,” the Authority said the move was meant to allow more qualified candidates to take advantage of the opportunities across various departments.

In the notice, CA reiterated its mandate, stating that it is “the regulatory agency for the ICT industry in Kenya with responsibilities in telecommunications, cyber security, e-commerce, broadcasting, multimedia, and postal/courier services.”

The Authority also noted that it manages “the country’s numbering and frequency spectrum resources” and administers the Universal Service Fund (USF), while safeguarding the interests of ICT service users.

The Authority said it is seeking to recruit “a highly competent, proactive, and self-driven individual” to fill a wide range of positions spanning senior management, legal, technical, administrative, and regulatory roles.

Applicants were advised “to view detailed Job Specifications” through the link provided in the advertisement, that is https://careers.ca.go.ke/OA_HTML/IrcVisitor.jsp.

Vacancies Advertised by CAK

The list of advertised positions includes top leadership roles such as Director for the Universal Service Fund, Director for Competition Management, Consumer Protection and Corporate Communications, and Director for Finance and Accounts, all offered on contract terms at CA2 grade.

Other senior roles include several Deputy Director positions at CA3 grade, which are “Permanent & Pensionable.”

Mid-level and operational roles span across administration, organizational development, security, frequency planning and monitoring, standards and numbering, cyber investigations and forensics, property management, insurance, project development, telecommunications inspection and compliance, governance and regulatory affairs, litigation, commercial services, and broadcasting licensing.

The grades range from CA5 to CA12, with most positions also listed as “Permanent & Pensionable.”

Application Requirements and Compliance

CA emphasized that applications, “MUST be accompanied by a signed Cover Letter, detailed curriculum vitae (CV) with contacts for three (3) referees, a Copy of their National Identity Card, and copies of relevant academic and professional certificates.”

Successful candidates will also be required to submit statutory clearance documents, including a “Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)” and clearance certificates from HELB, DCI, EACC, and a Credit Reference Bureau.

The Authority cautioned applicants that “Canvassing in any form or failure to attach any of the stipulated documents shall lead to automatic disqualification.”

Deadline Extended to End of December

In the application process section, CA confirmed that “the deadline for application has been extended from 22nd December 2025 to 31st December 2025 at 5:00 PM East African Time.”

Applications are to be submitted online through the careers portal, with all correspondence addressed to the Director General, Communications Authority of Kenya.

The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to inclusivity, stating that, “it is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified Kenyans including persons living with disabilities, are encouraged to apply.”

Only shortlisted candidates, CA noted, “shall be contacted for interviews.”
