The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has spoken out following the recall of Indomie vegetable flavour in France.

In an official public notice released on December 22nd, 2025, NAFDAC said that the product is not NAFDAC-registered.

French authorities recalled the Indomie Noodles Vegetable Flavor due to the presence of undeclared allergens.

“The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has noted the recall of Indomie Noodles Vegetable Flavour by French authorities (Rappel Conso) due to the presence of undeclared allergens (milk and eggs), which may pose health risks to consumers with allergies or intolerances,” read part notice.

The Agency clarified that the recalled product does not originate from Nigeria and is not registered by the Agency for sale in the Nigerian market.

However, they also noted that Noodles are included on the Federal Government’s Import Prohibition List, meaning their import into Nigeria is illegal and greatly limits the chances of the affected product entering the country.

“Noodles are listed on the Federal Government’s Import Prohibition List, making their importation into Nigeria unlawful and significantly reducing the likelihood of the affected product entering the country,” NAFDAC stated.

Measures the Agency Has Taken to Ensure Safety

NAFDAC has intensified surveillance nationwide and directed all zonal directors and state coordinators to remain vigilant and immediately mop up the product if found within their jurisdictions.

Additionally, the Ports Inspection Directorate has also been placed on alert to prevent any attempted importation of the implicated product.

“The Agency further assures the public that all Indomie instant noodles and other noodle brands registered by NAFDAC for sale in Nigeria are manufactured locally and approved only after meeting stringent regulatory requirements, including compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP),” read part notice.

The Agency remains committed in safeguarding the health of the public and ensuring the safety of food products.

“Reports of adverse reactions may also be submitted through NAFDAC’s e-reporting platforms available on the Agency’s official website,” said the Agency.
