The Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met) has issued the weather forecast for the period between December 30, 2025, and January 5, 2026.
In the forecast published on Tuesday, December 30, Kenya Met said rains are expected to continue over a few areas at the beginning of the week.
This is mainly in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, parts of the North-western and North-eastern regions, the Coastal region, and the South-eastern lowlands.
Kenya Met said isolated thunderstorms and heavy rainfall may occur in some areas before conditions transition to predominantly sunny and dry weather across much of the country for the remainder of the week.
“Isolated thunderstorms and heavy rainfall may occur in these areas. Conditions are then expected to transition to predominantly sunny and dry conditions across much of the country for the remainder of the week,” Kenya Met said.

Hot Conditions: Daytime (maximum) temperatures above 30°C are expected in the Coast, Northeastern, and Northwestern Kenya, as well as parts of the Southeastern lowlands, the Rift Valley, and Western Kenya.
Cool Nights: Night-time (minimum) temperatures below 10°C are expected in parts of the Central Highlands, the North and Central Rift Valley, Western Kenya, and areas near Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Kenya Met earlier released the weather forecast valid from 0900hrs, Monday 29th to 0900hrs Tuesday 30th December 2025.
The weatherman said rainfall is set to continue over several parts of the country during the period.
Residents in areas experiencing persistent rainfall are advised to remain alert, especially in flood-prone and low-lying areas.
