Khalwale Provides Update on George Natembeya’s Accident

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has issued an update following Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya ‘s accident.

Speaking during the burial ceremony of Former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo on December 30th, 2025, Khalwale said the X-ray was conducted on Natembeya ‘s leg and found that one toe was broken.

Trans Nzoia Governor was distributing Christmas gifts to his residents on December 24th, 2025, when he slipped and got injured in the leg.

“George Natembeya on 24th was distributing Christmas gifts and unfortunately his leg slipped, we have done a small X-ray, one of the toes is broken the doctors said George Natembeya should have absolute better rest for quick recovery,” Khalwale stated.

Natembeya’s Ally Reveals Why the Governor Skipped Jirongo’s Memorial Service

Trans Nzoia County’s Chief Executive Member in charge of Lands, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development, Pius Gumo explained why Natembeya skipped the Jirongo’s memorial service in Bungoma.

According to Gumo, the Governor was injured and broke his leg, which is why he failed to attend the occasion.

However, he send the condolence message to Jirongo’s family, friends and relatives through Gumo.

“I have brought the condolence message of Governor George Natembeya. He got involved in an accident during Christmas, and he broke his leg; that is why he could not be here. He would have loved to be here to console the family,” Gumo said.

Condolence Message

In a heartfelt moving tribute stated by Gumo on behalf of his boss, it acknowledged and recognized the departed leader as someone who championed the interests of ordinary people.

Additionally, the county chief also praised Jirongo as a principled leader who was steadfast in integrity, mindful of the people’s well-being, and dedicated to the development of Bungoma County and the nation during his political life

“On his behalf, I would like to console you and remind you of his message to the family, and recognize Jirongo as a leader who championed the interests of the lowly citizens, and that we as leaders should do the same,” Gumo added.
