KICD Approved Textbooks for ICT, Media and Power Mechanics for CBE

The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) published a list of approved Curriculum Support Materials for Grade 10 learners under the Competency-Based Education (CBE) system.

In a public notice released on December 23, 2025, KICD listed the approved textbooks across various learning areas, including Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Social Sciences, and Arts and Sports Science, depending on students’ abilities, talents, and career aspirations.

Under the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC), ICT (Information and Communication Technology) equips learners with digital literacy skills, including the use of computers, software applications, and internet tools to solve problems and communicate effectively in a modern world.

Power Mechanics introduces learners to the principles of mechanical systems, engines, and energy conversion technologies used in transportation and industrial applications.

Media Technology develops learners’ understanding of visual and audio communication tools, including photography, videography, and digital editing, fostering creativity and technical proficiency.

4. Smart Minds ICT Learner’s Book and Teacher’s Guide Grade 10, published by EAEP. Andrew Omanibe, S.M. Mutyambai, and John Maloba are authors.
