The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has issued an alert regarding the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results.
In a notice on January 2, 2026, KNEC warned candidates and parents against scammers.
KNEC said the scammers claim to have the capability to boost KCSE results for all the subjects.
“Beware of scammers !” KNEC said.
One of the photos shared on the KNEC X page shows a message sent to a WhatsApp group saying that “KCSE grade fixing is ongoing”.
The sender by the name Phyllgona Agencies claimed that people can also boost individual subjects.
“KCSE Grade fixing is ongoing. Remember, you can also boost the subjects you need,” Phyllgona Agencies wrote.

Ogamba Announces KCSE Results Date
Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Migos Ogamba said KCSE results will be released in January 2026.
In a statement on Friday, January 3, 2025, Ogamba said the results would mark a new chapter in the lives of hundreds of thousands of candidates who sat the nationwide examinations.
“In 10 days, the KCSE results will unveil a new chapter for thousands. Let this milestone remind us that every path forward holds limitless potential. Aspire, believe, achieve,” Ogamba said.

This comes days after Ogamba said the KCSE results would be released by the second week of January in keeping with the tradition.
“The KCSE examination results will be released within the next two weeks. Traditionally, the KCSE exams were normally announced in January, and we are keeping to that tradition, and we are releasing them within the next two weeks,” Ogamba stated on December 31, 2024, during the presidential end-of-year address at the Kisii State Lodge.
KCSE candidates began their oral papers in German, French, Arabic, and Kenyan Sign Language on October 21, while practical examinations commenced on October 29 and ran through October 31.
The written papers were concluded on November 21, 2025.
