Liam Rosenior Speaks After His Appointment as Chelsea Coach

Chelsea Football Club has confirmed the appointment of Liam Rosenior as the new head coach of the men’s team, marking a significant long-term commitment by the Premier League club to a clearly defined footballing vision.

The Englishman has signed a contract running until 2032, underlining the club’s intention to prioritise continuity, stability and sustained success at Stamford Bridge.

In a statement released by the club, Chelsea said it was “delighted to announce the appointment of Liam Rosenior as head coach,” ending days of speculation about the club’s technical direction.

The length of the contract is notable in modern football and reflects confidence in Rosenior’s ability to build a competitive side capable of challenging at the highest level both domestically and in Europe.

Rosenior arrives in west London after a successful spell overseas with RC Strasbourg, where he guided the French club to European qualification for the first time in 19 years during his debut season.

Before that, he held managerial roles in England with Hull City and Derby County, earning a reputation as one of the country’s most progressive young coaches.

On his move to the Premier League, Rosenior said: “I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed Head Coach of Chelsea Football Club. This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies.”

Commitment to Chelsea’s Identity

Rosenior emphasised that maintaining Chelsea’s winning culture will be central to his approach, stating: “My job is to protect that identity and create a team that reflects these values in every game we play as we continue winning trophies.”

He added that, “the trust placed in me by the club hierarchy is deeply personal,” noting that being entrusted with the role “means the world” to him.

The 40-year-old coach made it clear that unity will be a defining feature of his tenure.

“I believe deeply in teamwork, unity, togetherness, and working for one another,” he said, describing these principles as “the foundation of our success.”

Focus on Players, Staff and Fans

Rosenior also highlighted his excitement about working with Chelsea’s squad and backroom staff.

“I am excited to work with this extremely talented group of players and staff, to build strong connections on and off the pitch,” he said, adding that creating a united environment would drive performance.

Addressing supporters directly, Rosenior underlined the importance of fan connection, calling them “the soul of this enormous, historic and huge football club.”

He stressed his desire for fans to “feel proud of the team’s identity” in every match.
