Panic erupted at Kowet Police Post in Siaya County on Thursday morning, January 8, after a large snake, believed to have skin resembling a police jungle, slithered into the report office.
A police report filed at the station shows that the incident occurred at around 8:00 am when officers on duty were at the report office.
The report states that the officers could not identify the reptile easily because of its skin colour.

However, the officers, assisted by local residents, successfully killed the snake.
“At around 0800hrs, while at the report office, a big snake emerged from a nearby bush and entered the report office. It was very hard to identify its species since it had skin resembling a police jungle,” reads part of the report.
“With the help of the members of the public, we managed to promote it to glory.”

Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officers from Siaya later attended the scene, recorded the incident, and transferred the snake to the facility for viewing.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported.
