Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has officially released the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results, marking the conclusion of one of the largest national examinations in Kenya.

“Individual KCSE candidates’ examination results will be accessed online through a link on the KNEC website or directly through results.knec.ac.ke, and candidates will be required to enter their index number and one of their names as per the registration data for the 2025 KCSE examination,” Ogamba said.

2025 KCSE Exam
In a statement on January 3, Ogamba announced that the KCSE results would be released before January 15, 2026.
A total of 996,078 candidates were registered to sit for the 2025 KCSE examinations, reflecting a significant increase compared to 962,512 candidates who sat the exams in 2024.
The steady rise in candidature continues a multi-year trend driven by improved transition rates from junior secondary to senior secondary education.

The 2025 KCSE examinations officially began on October 21, 2025, with oral and practical papers, before written theory examinations commenced later in the cycle.
The exams ran for nearly a month, concluding on November 21, 2025, after all compulsory and optional subject papers were completed.
The Ministry of Education reported 418 candidates were implicated in examination malpractice during the 2025 KCSE cycle.
This represents a notable decline compared to 2024, when 840 candidates had their results cancelled, and an additional 2,829 results were withheld pending investigations.
