The government, through a gazette notice, has announced a list of new appointments and changes to key state boards and institutions.
In Gazette Notice No. 268, Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning John Mbadi re-appointed Hadi Sheikh Abdulahi, Richard Boro Ndung’u, and Lydia Cherono Rono as members of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
The re-appointments were made under section 6(2)(e) of the Kenya Revenue Authority Act and will run for a period of three years, effective January 13, 2026.
The move ensures continuity at the tax authority, which plays a key role in revenue collection and financing government operations.
In a separate notice, Gazette Notice No. 269, CS Mbadi also appointed William Oluoch Adera as the Registrar of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
The appointment was made under the Supplies Practitioners Management Act and is for a three-year term, taking effect from September 26, 2025.
KISM is responsible for regulating and developing the supply management profession in Kenya.

Meanwhile, in Gazette Notice No. 271, Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Alice Wahome appointed Gertrude Rapong’o, Mutua Mutisya, Silas Mbaabu Gichuru, and Dr. Fredrick Omondi Owino as members of the Physical Planners Registration Board.
Their appointments will run for three years, effective January 9, 2026, under the Physical Planners Registration Act.

In another key development, Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry Lee Kinyanjui revoked the appointment of James Wahome Ndegwa as a member of the Business Premises Rent Tribunal.
The revocation takes effect from January 9, 2026.
Together, the gazette notices highlight ongoing adjustments within government institutions as Cabinet Secretaries exercise their statutory powers to appoint and reconstitute boards and offices.
