In an official statement released by the Managing Director, the company revealed that “fraudulent individuals and/or entities” have been impersonating the agricultural firm to issue fake Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) and cheques.

The sisal giant, which operates major estates in both Kenya and Tanzania, revealed that unauthorized individuals and entities are currently impersonating the company to solicit goods and services.

“The public is hereby notified that REA Vipingo Plantations Ltd has become aware of fraudulent individuals and/or entities impersonating the Company and issuing fake Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) and cheques in the name of REA Vipingo Plantations Ltd,” the notice read.

The Company further stated that these LPOs and cheques are fraudulent, unauthorized, and invalid, and do not originate from REA Vipingo Plantations Ltd.
