Transmara West Sub-County Hospital has closed its doors following a brutal attack on its medical staff.
The facility is currently unreachable for patients after armed individuals forced their way into the hospital on Tuesday night, assaulting healthcare workers on duty.
Preliminary reports suggest the attackers were accompanying a patient involved in a traffic accident when the situation turned violent.

The medical recommendation incited a violent backlash from the patient’s associates, leading to a physical assault on the duty nurses.
Due to the severity of the staff’s injuries and the ongoing threat to safety, the hospital was forced to shut down its services temporarily.
Local residents have been left stranded by the sudden closure. Mary Agnes, who traveled from Lolgorian for a scheduled scan, arrived to find the gates locked.
Expressing her frustration, she noted that the community relies entirely on the facility and is now left without an alternative for medical care.
The crisis is being felt most by parents; one distraught mother arrived seeking urgent care for her child, only to be turned away.
“This is the hospital we depend on. Now it is closed, and we don’t know where to seek help,” Agnes lamented.
Similarly, a patient with a fractured leg seeking an X-ray found no staff available.
As the shutdown continues, the public is demanding that the government immediately bolster security and reopen the doors.
“I brought my child for treatment and found the hospital closed. I don’t know where else to take my child.” One resident said.
