The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has issued a series of demands to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and local organisers, citing serious concerns and logistical malfunctionsahead of their highly anticipated Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final against Morocco.
In a statement dated Friday, January 16, 2026, the FSF outlined several grievances it claims compromise the safety and fairness of the continental tournament.
“The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) brings to the attention of national and international public opinion, as well as organising bodies, its serious concerns regarding several malfunctions observed in the lead-up to the preparation for the final of the Africa Cup of Nations,” read part of the statement.
Among its grievances, the FSF expressed deep regret over the absence of an adequate security system during the delegation’s arrival at the Rabat railway station.
The federation reported that the failure led to overcrowding and risks that were “incompatible with the standards” of a continental final, potentially endangering players and technical staff.

Regarding accommodation, the FSF revealed that it was forced to submit a formal written protest to secure appropriate lodging. While their competitor (Morocco) has now been moved to a 5-star hotel to ensure proper recovery conditions, other logistical disputes remain unresolved.
Another major concern involves the training facilities. The FSF has categorically refused to hold training sessions at the Mohammed VI Complex.
The federation argued that, because the facility serves as the base camp for the Moroccan national team, using it would raise significant issues regarding sporting fairness. As of the time of the statement, the Senegalese side noted it had yet to be notified of an alternative training site.
The federation also highlighted a worrying situation regarding stadium access and ticketing. Key complaints include:
Further, the FSF called upon CAF and the Local Organising Committee to take immediate corrective measures.
The federation emphasised that respect for the principles of Fair Play, equal treatment, and security is essential for the success of the celebration of African football.
