Tanzanian MP Halima Idd Nassor Dies

The Speaker of the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Mussa Azzan Zungu (MP), has announced the death of the Member of Parliament for Special Seats, His Excellency Halima Idd Nassor.

Nassor passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Jakaya Kikwete Heart Institute in Dar es Salaam while receiving treatment.

“With great sadness, I announce the death of the Member of Parliament for Special Seats, His Excellency Halima Idd Nassor, which occurred today, January 18, 2026, in Dar es Salaam. I express my condolences to all Honorable Members of Parliament, the family of the deceased, relatives, and friends. May God grant them the courage and fortitude during this difficult period,” said His Excellency Speaker.

Nassor Burial Time

The Office of the Parliament, in collaboration with the family of the deceased, is coordinating the funeral arrangements, and further information will continue to be released.

In a follow-up statement, the Office of the National Assembly informed the public that the burial of the Member of Parliament for Special Seats, the late Hon. Halima Idd Nassor, will take place today, Sunday, January 18, 2026.

The burial is scheduled for 2:00 pm at the Kibada Cemetery in Dole Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam.

“The Office of the National Assembly informs the public that the burial of the Member of Parliament for Special Seats, the Late Hon. Halima Idd Nassor, will take place today, Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Kibada Cemetery in Dole Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam.”
