Nation Media Group PLC has unveiled another employment opportunity in its upper management chain, seeking applications for the role of an Internal Audit Lead.
This job opportunity is advertised under the Job Reference Number HR-IAL-01-2026 and is meant for selected auditors who wish to work in one of the most respected media houses in the region.
In a public notice, the Group described itself as “the largest independent media and digital content company in East and Central Africa,” with operations spanning newspapers, television, radio, and digital platforms across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda.
The company further noted that it commands a global digital footprint and reaches “unparalleled global audiences” through diverse, high-quality content.
Nation Media Group stated that its core purpose is rooted in empowering Africa through independent journalism.
According to the announcement, the organisation is guided by values that ensure its content continues to “inform, educate, and entertain consumers beyond news,” while remaining relevant to audiences across different platforms.
The Group reiterated its long-term vision of becoming “the Media of Africa for Africa,” emphasizing that its mission is to create stakeholder value while positively influencing society.

Based on the advert for the vacancy, the Internal Audit Lead would be charged with the responsibility of managing the execution of the annual internal audit plan through the application of risk-based methodologies.
The position would involve the supervision of audit planning, execution, reporting, and tracking of the activities above.
Key responsibilities include planning and supervising annual audits, reviewing audit work conducted by staff, handling ad-hoc assignments requested by management or the Audit Committee, and “identifying control weaknesses and recommending improvements.”
The role also requires preparation of internal audit reports, status updates, and Board papers for the Audit Risk Committee.

Nation Media Group indicated that candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, with a master’s degree considered an added advantage.
Applicants are also expected to have professional certifications like CPA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, and Risk Management certification qualifications.
In addition to that, the person should also be a member of reputable bodies like ICPAK, ACCA, IRM, ISACA in good standing.
The company required that the applicant have between four and six years of working experience in the field of audit.
Additionally, the applicant should be well-versed in financial analysis skills.
