The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has responded to an incident where Senegal players walked out of the pitch during the 2025 AFCON finals against Morocco.
The incident happened when referee Jean Jacques Ndala awarded Morocco a penalty kick in the final minutes of the game.
Ndala referred to the VAR before awarding the penalty that brought tension on and off the pitch.
His decision came a few minutes after Senegal scored, but he cancelled the goal, ruling that Hakimi had been fouled.
Senegal players staged a walkout from the pitch before Sadio Mané encouraged them to return.
Although Brahim Díaz missed the penalty, Ndala has faced heavy criticism over the two decisions.
In a statement, CAF has condemned the behaviour of some players during the match.
CAF said it highly condemns any inappropriate behaviour that occurs during matches, especially those targeting the refereeing team or match organizers.
