The Social Health Authority (SHA) has released the list of its 47 County Operations Managers in a step towards decentralizing health services.
This initiative comes amid the transition from the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) to the new Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) framework.
The managers will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration of SHA programs across all the hospitals across the counties.
According to SHA, the managers will also be responsible for managing health benefit plans, coordinating medical claims, and ensuring that healthcare providers in their respective regions comply with the SHA Act.

The list reveals a diverse team of professionals spread across the nation, with each county assigned a dedicated lead.
Lily Kimetto will head operations in Baringo, while Abdi Aden Mohamed takes charge of the capital, Nairobi.
In Bomet, where Health CS Aden Duale is currently holding high-level UHC strategic meetings, Said Ibrahim Mohamed will lead the charge.
Management for the Northern and Eastern regions includes Rosely Changayo Nayapa (Samburu), Abdifatah Ali Salat (Tana River), Daniel Kabui Muya (Machakos), and Pius Kamau (Mombasa).
Hassan Halane Haiye is incharge of Taita Taveta, Namuya Benjamin for Turkana, Emma Adikento Alyaro for Narok, and Abdi Aden Mohamed representing the Nairobi branch.
In the Nyanza and Rift Valley sectors, Emmah Susan Akinyi Bosire manages Nyamira, while Erastus Mwema Makali is in Kajiado, Antony Murithi Matata is in West Pokot, and Ismael Otieno Obura is in Siaya.
Keziah Wamukota covers Kisumu, James Saipi Lengewa is in Laikipia, Lilian Wangeci Mumbi is in Embu, and Abdikadir Abdi Sheikh manages Kitui.

Collins Osore Anzia (Migori), Hassan Bagaja Guyo (Meru), Lilian Boyani Rigoro (Trans Nzoia), and Daizy Chepkoech (Nakuru).
Central and Western regions are managed by Jane Pereruan Tonkei (Murang’a), Bwanamzee Khamis (Busia), Oman Abdi Isaak (Mandera), James Mbugua Ndung’u (Marsabit), and Abdullahi Sheikh Abdirahma (Kilifi).
Daisy Wawira C. Nyaga oversees Tharaka Nithi, Charles Mari Gathii covers Nyandarua, Deka Ibrahim Mohamed is in Kiambu, and John Lemiso Tago manages Kakamega.
Operations in Isiolo, Wajir, and Elgeyo Marakwet are handled by Reuben Mutwiri Mutuura, Mohamed Dakane Ahmed, and Alex Gitonga Muthamia, respectively.
The government aims to complete migration from NHIF to SHA by mid-2026, with Universal Health Coverage (UHC) as the ultimate goal by 2030.
