Apology to Geoffrey Mosiria

Opande acknowledged the “shame” the incident has brought upon his family and expressed grave concerns regarding his professional future and legal status.

“I do not wish to lose my job, nor do I want to lose my U.S. visa,” Opande stated, framing his apology as a plea for a second chance. “As a man, I take full responsibility for my actions. I own my mistakes and I am ready to face the world.”

He also offered his apology to Geoffrey Mosiria, who claims he was rude to him.

“I also wish to offer my sincere apology to Kenyans, and more especially to Geoffrey Mosiria, the man who tried to reach out to me so that this matter could be resolved away from cameras and social media. I admit that I was rude to Mosiria, and for that I am truly sorry. However, that should not be a reason for him to be crucified,” Opande said in a statement.

He added, “Kenyans, forgive me. As a boy, I am sincerely sorry for my actions. I do not wish to lose my job, nor do I want to lose my U.S. visa. I have a family, and I acknowledge that I have brought shame to them.”
