The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has issued a directive to its members as it prepares for structured engagements with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
The party has scheduled a Special National Governing Council (NGC) meeting for Monday, January 26, 2026, at State House, Nairobi, where UDA is expected to formally ratify a resolution to begin structured negotiations with ODM towards a possible pre-election coalition. President William Ruto is also expected to hold a joint meeting with UDA and ODM legislators in the coming weeks.
In a notice dated Wednesday, January 21, 2026, issued by UDA National Elections Board Chairperson Anthony Mwaura, the party directed aspirants intending to contest for Governor, Senator, Member of National Assembly, Woman Representative, and MCA positions on a UDA ticket to register through the UDA Aspirants Forum portal, which was opened on the same day.

The notice further stated that President William Ruto, who is also the UDA Party Leader, will meet all registered aspirants on February 4, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. at State House to offer guidance on party priorities and preparations ahead of the elections.
Fees Schedule for Aspirants
UDA also released the non-refundable registration fees for aspirants as follows:

Payments can be made via M-Pesa Paybill No. 888092 using the aspirant’s ID number as the account number, or through a bank deposit to United Democratic Alliance, Account No. 0810280788414, Equity Bank Limited, Supreme Centre Branch.
The directive comes amid ongoing coalition talks, with a section of ODM leaders led by party leader Raila Odinga expressing interest in working with President Ruto’s UDA party. President Ruto has confirmed he will consult ODM Party leader Senator Oburu Odinga to agree on the date for a joint Parliamentary Group meeting.

The proposed meeting will follow a joint session held on August 18, 2025, attended by President Ruto and the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, during which a bipartisan implementation committee was established to oversee the implementation of the 10-point agenda and the NADCO report.
“These are issues that go to the heart of our people. It is important that their representatives are regularly updated on how far we have gone,” President Ruto said after receiving a progress report from the committee at State House, Nairobi.
