The Public Service Commission (PSC) has invited applications for the positions of Chairperson and Members of the Intelligence Service Complaints Board (ISCB).
According to the commission, this move is a significant step toward enhancing accountability within the National Intelligence Service (NIS), providing a formal mechanism for citizens to lodge complaints against the agency’s personnel or operations.
The Board, established under Section 66 of the National Intelligence Service Act, 2012, is tasked with investigating allegations of abuse of power, excesses, or misconduct by members of the NIS.
“Pursuant to the provisions of section 66 of the National Intelligence Service Act, 2012, the Public Service Commission invites applications from suitably qualified persons to be considered for nomination for appointment to the positions of the Chairperson and Member of the Intelligence Service Complaints Board,” the Public Service Commission stated.
The Commission is seeking to fill four distinct categories of roles, each with specific professional backgrounds:

| Chairperson | Must be a Kenyan citizen with at least 10 years of experience as a superior court judge, magistrate, or a distinguished legal practitioner. |
| Member (Advocate) | Requires a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies, with a high level of integrity and impartiality. |
| Member (Retired Senior Intelligence Officer) | Candidates must have a distinguished record in the intelligence field and meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution. |
| Member (Public Service) | Must have at least 7 years of experience in the public service and a proven track record in their respective field. |
