The University of Embu (UoEm) is a public university in Kenya located in Embu County along the Meru-Nairobi Highway, approximately 4 km from Embu town.

It was established in 1947 as an agricultural training institution and later became a constituent college of the University of Nairobi in 2011 before receiving a full charter in 2016.

UoEm is dedicated to providing quality education, research, innovation and community service across a wide range of academic disciplines.

The main campus is situated on the Meru-Nairobi Highway, near Kangaru Boys High School in Kirimari ward, Embu West.

Other Campus Sites

As of current verified sources, the University of Embu operates primarily from its main campus in Embu.

There is a TVET Institute affiliated with the university that provides technical and vocational training programmes.

Unlike some other Kenyan universities with multiple regional campuses, UoEm’s satellite sites beyond Embu are not widely documented.

2. Certificate Fees

Certificate programme tuition is approximately ksh 19,500-22,000  per semester with additional modest statutory fees (total around ksh 55,500-62,500 per year).

 

3 . TVET Fees

TVET craft certificates have lower tuition than university degree courses, reflecting the technical nature of training. (Exact figures vary by course, contactthe  University for details.)
