When selecting courses through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), many students assume that Biology is a mandatory subject for most degree and diploma programmes.
However, this is not the case.
Several marketable courses in Kenyan universities and TVET institutions do not require Biology, making them suitable for students who pursued other science, technical, or humanities subjects at KCSE.
These courses focus on skills in technology, business, social sciences, arts, and engineering-related fields.
Approved courses where Biology is not compulsory, grouped by category:
1. Business and Economics Courses
These courses emphasize mathematics, commerce, and analytical skills rather than biological sciences.
