A middle-aged man was brutally murdered in Elbeso village, North Horr Constituency, Marsabit County, in what police believe was a love triangle gone wrong.

The body of Badaqe Galgalo Abduba (34) was found lying in a pool of blood with deep stab wounds.

Confirming the incident, Marsabit County Police Commander Leonard Kimaiyo said the killing occurred on Saturday at the home of a woman believed to have been romantically involved with the deceased.

“The deceased had visited the woman’s house when another man, also alleged to be her boyfriend, arrived and a confrontation ensued,” Kimaiyo said.

According to police, the suspect, Guyo Talbe (45), allegedly stormed the house, leading to a heated argument that escalated into a physical fight.

Abduba sustained fatal stab wounds during the confrontation.

Local elders who reported the matter to the area assistant chief revealed that the woman’s husband was away in neighbouring Isiolo County at the time of the incident.

The woman, Daro Sora Roba (25), was later taken to North Horr Police Station to record a statement.

The suspect later surrendered to police, admitting to stabbing the deceased several times on the left side under the armpit.

“The murder weapon was recovered about 500 metres from the scene and had visible blood stains,” Kimaiyo added.

The body of the deceased was moved to Marsabit County Referral Hospital mortuary pending postmortem examination as investigations continue.
