How to Change Courses After KUCCPS Placement Results

Share

When a student changes courses, faculty, or programs within the same university or college after being initially placed by KUCCPS, this is known as an Intra-Institutional Transfer (IIT).

Unlike inter-institutional transfers, which move between different universities, it permits changing career paths while staying within the same educational system.

The intra-institutional transfer is normally opened two to three weeks depending on the institutions after the start of the semester.

 Intra-Institutional Transfer Process

If you like your university but just want a different course, you don’t usually use the KUCCPS portal.

This happens after you have officially reported and registered at the university.

Visit the Registrar of Academic Affairs or the Admissions Office at your campus. They usually have internal “Inter-Faculty Transfer” forms.

You still must meet the cluster points and subject requirements for the new course within that specific university.

How to Check if You Qualify for a Course:

(i) Go to https://students.kuccps.net/
(ii) Login using: your index number as username, exam year and password used during registration (Use Your Birth Certificate No./ KCPE Index No (as used in KCSE Exam Registration) as your Initial Password)
(iii) After login, click on Institutions, then select the campus you were placed at from the list of Institutions.
(iv) All the courses are displayed. Click on the course you want to transfer to. Your cluster weight will be displayed in the last column far left side. Also Read: How To Confirm KUCCPS Placement Results

(v) Compare your cluster weight above with the 2025 cutoff in the first column. If the cluster weight is equal to or greater than the 2025 cut-off and you also meet the required cluster subjects, then you qualify for the course.
(vi) If your cluster weight is less than the 2025 cut-off or you DO NOT meet the cluster subjects, then you DO NOT qualify for that course and therefore, you should NOT request a change to that course.
