Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) is a public university well-known for research, innovation, and technology.
The MUST Main Campus is located on the Meru-Maua road, 15 km from Meru town. Additionally, the university has established a learning center at Marimb and a campus at the Hart Towers in Meru Town.
On March 1, 2013, MUST was fully chartered, and its first Chancellor was Dr. James N. Mwangi. The Meru University College of Science and Technology (MUCST), a part of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), was the institution’s original name.
Through Legal Notice No. 103, dated July 18, 2008, the Kenyan government changed the name of the Meru College of Technology (MECOTECH) to the Meru University College of Science and Technology (MUCST).
After being granted a charter on March 1st, 2013, Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) became a fully-fledged university. The first Chancellor was then named Dr. James N. Mwangi, CBS.
Meru University of Science and Technology has maintained its position as a leader in the creation and growth of opportunities for research and higher education. This is, in fact, the result of a process that has seen the university achieve remarkable growth in research and partnerships, infrastructure development, student enrollment, staff capacity development, and curriculum development.

Meru University Schools and Programs
School of Agriculture and Food Science: offers degrees in Food Science and Nutrition, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Agribusiness Management, and Hospitality and Tourism Management.
School of Business and Economics: Commerce, Business Administration, and Economics and Finance.
School of Computing and Informatics: It provides specialized training in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, and Cybersecurity.
