Emotional Moment as Woman Kneels to Beg President Ruto for Help to Start Laundry Business

Share

An emotional moment at the Gusii Stadium as President William Ruto responded to a heartfelt appeal from a woman from Nyamira during a public function of the Nyota Fund Project.

Eunice Wanya, a resident of Borabu Constituency in Nyamira County, was overcome with emotion after the President heeded her request and pledged support for her planned laundry business.

Eunice, who previously earned a living selling second-hand clothes (mtumba), narrated how she benefited from the Hustler Fund, receiving an initial loan of KSh 600 that has since grown to over KSh 6,000, helping her sustain her small business.

President Ruto, who is in Kisii County on a nationwide tour to disburse the Nyota Fund to youth entrepreneurs, appeared visibly moved by the heartfelt plea.

The visit is part of the president’s broader initiative to empower young people across the country by providing financial support to help them start businesses and create employment opportunities.

The target groups include traders, artisans, farmers, salon owners, boda boda riders, and manufacturers, among others.

The idea is to reduce unemployment levels among the youth and encourage them to be self-reliant.

The Nyota Fund is an improvement on existing initiatives like the Hustler Fund, indicating the government’s commitment to the economic empowerment of the people.

To young Kenyans like Eunice Wanya, such initiatives provide hope, dignity, and the chance to create a better life through honest work.
