Renowned Migori businessman Oketch Salah has held talks with Ida Odinga, the widow of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, following a public spat with her daughter, Winnie Odinga, over claims about his relationship with the late ODM leader.
In a statement dated Wednesday, January 29, 2026, Salah said he had engaged Ida Odinga in discussions even though he did not reveal what they discussed.
“Today, I had a discussion with my sister from Migori, Her Excellency Ambassador Min Piny, Mama Ida Odinga,” read the statement.
He added that he has nothing personal against Winnie Odinga, describing the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) legislator as a sister.
“ Winnie Odinga is like my younger sister, and I have no issues with her,” said Oketch Salah.
He also paid tribute to the late former Prime Minister, saying he continues to pray for Raila Odinga’s soul to rest in peace.
At the same time, Salah dismissed claims that he had agreed to grant an interview to media personality Oga Obinna, saying he did not discuss the matter and would not be attending the interview.
Oketch Salah’s response comes amid disagreements with the EALA legislator over his relationship with the Odinga family, particularly the late ODM leader.

Winnie Odinga dismissed claims by businessman Oketch Salah, who has alleged that he was close to the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga during his final moments.
Speaking during a media interview on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Winnie said neither she nor the Odinga family knows Salah, despite his public claims that he is Raila Odinga’s “adopted son” and played a role in funding some of his activities.
“I have met him, but I’d like to believe nobody really knows him,” Winnie said.
She added that she found his claims disturbing, especially given the circumstances surrounding her father’s death.
She described the loss of her father as a deeply traumatic experience and questioned the intentions behind Salah’s statements, particularly his claim that he was present at the time of Raila Odinga’s death.
“Because a flat-out lie that you were there at the time of my father’s death when you were not, and talking about things that did not occur, is quite dangerous,” she said.

In a quick rejoinder, Salah said he watched the interview but chose to remain silent out of respect for Mama Ida Odinga.
Salah, however, maintained the claims he has made about his final moments with Raila, insisting that they are true.
