President Uhuru Kenyatta, through his spokesperson Kanze Dena, has issued a clarification regarding several political posts that have gone viral on social media, including claims that he is planning to hold a meeting with all Mount Kenya leaders, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on February 14 2026.
In a statement dated Thursday, January 29, 2026, Kanze Dena said the posts are false.
“The Office of the 4th President, Uhuru Kenyatta, has observed with concern the deliberate circulation of false and misleading content on social media platforms,” the statement read.
The former President’s spokesperson said the posts are unauthorised and do not in any way represent the views or position of Uhuru Kenyatta.
She reminded the public that any official communication from the retired President or his office will only be disseminated through established and verified channels, including the Office of the 4th President or official Jubilee Party platforms.

Kanze Dena said the Office of the 4th President remains committed to ensuring that accurate information is shared promptly, so that the public is reliably informed.
She further urged citizens to refrain from posting false information online.
“We urge all citizens to exercise vigilance, verify information before sharing, and avoid amplifying falsehoods that erode public trust. The dignity of the Office of the 4th President of the Republic of Kenya remains paramount,” said the former President’s spokesperson.
She reiterated the office’s commitment to transparency, integrity, and respect in all its engagements.
The Office of the 4th President issued the clarification after several social media posts were circulated and falsely attributed to former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

One post alleged that Uhuru was calling for a meeting with all Mount Kenya leaders on February 14 “to trace back our journey as a community,” and urged former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to organise his team to foster unity within the region.
Another post falsely quoted Uhuru as saying he was ill and did not have many days to live, while claiming he did not want to leave his people “in the yoke of bondage” and condemning the alleged teargassing of children in church.
