The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has announced the re-opening of applications for the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Project under its On-the-Job Experience (OJE) programme.

The initiative aims to equip young Kenyans with practical workplace skills, boost employability, and expand access to economic opportunities across the country.

The NYOTA Project is designed to help young people gain real work experience through structured workplace learning.

Participants will be placed in real job environments where they can sharpen their technical skills, build confidence, and improve their chances of securing long-term employment.

In addition to hands-on experience, beneficiaries will receive life skills training, business and digital skills development, mentorship from industry experts, and a nationally recognized certificate upon completion.

The programme also incorporates a safe and accessible savings plan to promote financial inclusion among the youth.

Who Is Eligible?

The programme targets unemployed youth aged 18 to 29 years, with the age limit extended up to 35 years for Persons with Disabilities.

Applicants must have a minimum education level of Form Four or below and should be either unemployed, in low-income employment, or in vulnerable jobs.

Youth from all 47 counties are encouraged to apply, ensuring nationwide inclusivity and equal access to opportunity.
