Detectives in Endebess have arrested a man believed to be behind the shocking murder of 17-year-old Rael Cheptoek Kaboi, a Form Four student at Nai Girls Secondary School.
The tragic incident occurred on January 30, 2026, in the Mowlem area of Kiptogot Location.
Mike Wabwire Semera, identified as the prime suspect, was apprehended after allegedly fleeing across the Kenya-Uganda border in a bid to evade arrest.
The painful discovery was made early Friday morning after residents reported spotting a lifeless body in a nearby farm.
Police officers from Endebess Police Station responded swiftly to the scene, located approximately 700 metres from the victim’s mother’s home.
Upon arrival, officers found the teenager’s body bearing visible signs of assault.
The scene was processed and documented by investigators before the body was moved to Kijana Wamalwa Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation and postmortem examination.
Preliminary findings indicate that Rael had left her home at about 5:45 a.m. to attend school, which is less than a kilometre away.
She never arrived.
Her body was later discovered at around 6:30 a.m. by fellow students who were on their way to school, sending shockwaves through the local community.
