A grieving family in Nairobi’s Mihang’o estate is calling for the immediate arrest of a General Service Unit (GSU) officer accused of brutally murdering their 23-year-old daughter, Ann Muthoni Ngunjiri.
According to the family, Ann was allegedly pursued to her house in Mihang’o, Kayole, by the suspect on Sunday evening.
Once inside, he is said to have assaulted and fatally stabbed her before disappearing without a trace.
An autopsy later confirmed that Ann died from severe head injuries caused by a combination of a sharp object and blunt force trauma.
Ann’s mother, Wanjiku, expressed deep anguish over the loss of her daughter, saying no form of justice could ever restore what she has lost.
“No matter what they do, I won’t gain anything. My child is gone. Even if they arrest whoever did it and do whatever to them, I will never get my child back,” said Wanjiku.
The devastated mother described her daughter as humble and calm, struggling to come to terms with the violent nature of her death.
Family members revealed that Ann had been in an on-and-off relationship with the suspect.
On the day of her death, the relationship is said to have taken a tragic turn.
Neighbours claim the suspect was seen following Ann to her house before the alleged attack.
After killing her, he reportedly locked the house and left the key with a security guard before vanishing under the cover of darkness.

“They say he followed her to the house and was seen. Then he killed her there, locked the door, and left the key with the security guard,” said Wanjiku.
“My daughter was very humble and calm. He must have attacked her viciously, because even the neighbors did not hear any screams. The body was found on Monday, and I was called and told to come.”
Ann’s lifeless body was discovered on Monday, February 2, hidden under her bed and soaked in a pool of blood- a traumatic scene that has left the Mihang’o community in shock.
Despite the suspect being identified, the family claims little progress has been made in apprehending him.

Police have confirmed that the suspect is attached to the Kenya Police GSU unit in Embakasi and say efforts to track him down are ongoing.
“The suspect has since been identified, and he works with the Kenya Police GSU Embakasi. We are in hot pursuit, and soon we will arrest him,” said Joseph Owuoth, Police Commander, Kayole.
Authorities insist investigations are at an advanced stage, though the family maintains that justice is moving too slowly.
As investigations continue, Ann’s family is preparing to transport her body to Nyahururu before laying her to rest at their home in Subukia, Nakuru County.
Even in their grief, they cling to hope that one day justice will be served for their daughter.
