Kakamega Homeboyz Reveal What Killed Midfielder Silas Abungana

The Kenyan Premier League and football fans are mourning the death of Kakamega Homeboyz midfielder Silas Abungana.

In a statement, Kakamega Homeboyz Football Club said it is deeply devastated by Sila’s untimely demise.

The club confirmed that Silas passed away a few minutes before midnight on Wednesday, 4 February, at Kakamega County General Hospital.

He had succumbed to head injuries sustained during an attack on the night of Tuesday, 3 February.

“The club can confirm that Silas passed away a few minutes before midnight on Wednesday,4 February, while receiving treatment at Kakamega County General Hospital, after succumbing to head injuries sustained during an attack on Tuesday, 3 February night,” Kakamega Homeboyz FC said.

Kakamega Homeboyz Message to the Fans

Kakamega Homeboyz Football Club said that during this incredibly difficult time, they respectfully request privacy for Silas’ family, teammates, friends, and club officials as they come to terms with this unimaginable loss.

The club also said it will issue further communication in due course and wished Silas to rest in peace.

Silas Abungana Died After Family Dispute

Reports indicate that Silas passed away after allegedly being attacked by his younger brother.

It is said that his brother stabbed him following a dispute over wife-related issues.

Family members reportedly urged him to separate from his wife, whom they viewed as an inappropriate match, a disagreement that allegedly escalated into violence.
