ODM Distances Itself from Oketch Salah

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party has distanced itself from the activities and statements made by businessman Oketch Salah.

In a statement signed by National Chairperson Gladys Wanga, ODM said Salah’s activities are in his capacity and are in wat associated with the Party.

“ODM wishes to clarify that any activities, statements, or engagements undertaken by Mr. Oketch Salah are carried out strictly in his personal capacity and do not represent or bind the Orange Democratic Movement in any way,” reads part of the statement.

Wanga clarified that all official activities must have approval from the Party Secretariat and be guided by Dr. Oburu Oginga, the party leader.

ODM Warns Leaders, Members & Supporters

Wanga warned grassroots leaders and supporters to avoid organizing ODM activities without consulting the Party leadership.

“All official ODM activities, programs, and engagements are channeled through the Party Secretariat and are undertaken with the approval and guidance of the Party leadership, headed by Dr. Oburu Odinga,” she said.

“Grassroots leaders, members, and supporters are therefore advised that no activities should be organized or conducted in the name of ODM without prior consultation and approval from the Party leadership and the Secretariat.”

Wange emphasized that ODM remains committed to order, discipline, and structured engagement in the pursuit of its objectives.

Winnie Odinga Dismisses Oketch Salah

Salah has held talks with Ida Odinga, the widow of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, following a public spat with her daughter, Winnie Odinga, over claims about his relationship with the late ODM leader.

In a statement dated Wednesday, January 29, 2026, Salah said he had engaged Ida Odinga in discussions even though he did not reveal the details of their discussion.

Speaking during a media interview on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Winnie said neither she nor the Odinga family knows Salah, despite his public claims that he is Raila Odinga’s “adopted son” and played a role in funding some of his activities.
