The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has confirmed on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 the elimination of Ahmad Hasan, who headed the Beit Hanoun sniper array in northern Gaza.

In a military statement on February 11, 2026, the targeted strike was carried out in response to what the military described as a “blatant violation” of the standing ceasefire agreement earlier this week.

Military officials stated that Hasan was not only responsible for past deadly engagements but was actively coordinating new operations at the time of his death.

“ELIMINATED: Ahmad Hasan, Head of the Sniper Array in the Hamas Beit Hanoun Battalion, and responsible for leading multiple attacks that killed several IDF soldiers,” the military said in a statement.

It adds, “The terrorist was eliminated in response to the blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement on Monday.”
