Kenya Power Lists Nairobi and Other Counties for Sunday Blackouts

Kenya Power has issued a notice for planned maintenance works in parts of Nairobi and Kisumu counties on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

The temporary disruption of electricity supply is aimed at improving the reliability of the grid.

According to the Kenya Power, the outages are expected to last for most of the day, affecting residential estates, business hubs, and key public facilities.

“Good evening, the following areas will be on a planned power maintenance tomorrow (15.02.2026),” Kenya Power wrote on X.

Affected Areas and Timelines

1. Nairobi Region: Westlands

Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

Specific Areas: Suswa Road, Wangapala Road, portions of Mpaka Road, and Ngao Road.

The Kenya Power has directed the business owners and residents in these adjacent areas to make necessary arrangements for the eight-hour window without power.

2. Western Region: Kisumu County

The maintenance in the Lakeside City will be extensive, covering three major blocks from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.:

Manyatta Estate: Manyatta Market, Manyatta Site, Magadi Secondary, and Mbeme Junction.

Kenya Re Estate & Mamboleo: This outage will impact high-traffic areas including the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium, Kisumu Showground, NHC Mamboleo, Lolwe Estate, and Translake Apartments.

Polyview & Prince Hotel Area: Affected spots include Kaloleni Estate, Makasembo, Polyview, Prince Hotel, and parts of Arina and Shauri Moyo Estates.

Earlier Maintenance

On Friday February 13, 2026, Kenya Power had announced scheduled power interruptions which affected parts of Nairobi, Kisii, Migori, and Nyeri counties.

The planned outages run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in all the listed areas as it undertook maintenance works.

In the Nairobi Region, the outage had affected parts of the Langata Road Area, including Part of Wilson Airport, Skyward Airlines, Langata Rd, Part of Dam Estate, Rubis Petrol Station, Uhuru Gardens, Deliverance, Maasai Estate, Jonathan Ngeno Estate, Breeze Estate and adjacent customers.
