KNEC Issues Notice on 2025 KCSE Result Slips Collection

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced that the 2025 KCSE examination result slips are now ready for collection.

In a notice on Saturday, February 14, KNEC said candidates can visit their respective schools to collect their slips.

“The 2025 KCSE examination result slips are ready for collection. Candidates are advised to visit their schools and collect the result slips,” KNEC said.

This marks the first step for students as they access their official results, which will be used for university admissions, further education, or employment opportunities.

Schools have been urged to ensure a smooth distribution process and assist candidates with any queries regarding their results.

2025 examination results

In the 2025 examination results, a total of 993,226 candidates sat the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) compared to 962,512 candidates in 2024. This showed an increase of approximately 3.2 per cent.

A total of 1,932 candidates attained an A plain, representing approximately 0.19 per cent with an increase from 1,693 candidates in 2024, who accounted for about 0.18 per cent of the total candidature that year.

According to Ministry of Education data, about 270,000 candidates qualified for direct university entry in 2025 representing about 27.2 per cent of all candidates.

In comparison, about 246,000 candidates qualified for direct university entry in 2024, accounting for approximately 25.6 per cent of those who sat the examinations.

Is KUCCPS portal open?

KUCCPS CEO Agnes Wahome earlier on Monday, January 26, 2026 during an interview in a local station said they will open the university and college placement portal in March.

Wahome said the application process is important to prepare KCSE students as they transition to higher institutions of learning adding that guidance materials will be available upon the portal’s launch to ensure students can easily navigate the system and select their preferred courses.

“There is a lot of work that is going on both on the college and university side as well as on our side so that we may ensure that when I announce the placement, there is no confusion,” Wahome said.
