The electricity supply to residents and businesses in some areas of Nairobi, Kajiado, and Kericho counties will be interrupted on Monday, February 16, 2026, as part of scheduled maintenance.
The planned power interruptions will be carried out in selected areas of the Nairobi Region, some areas in Kajiado County, and other areas in the Central Rift Region, as announced in the public notice labeled “Planned Power Interruptions; 16.02.2026.”
In the Nairobi Region, the power interruptions will take place between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. within the areas of Pangani and Akiba, Kabiyet.
Under Area: Pangani, electricity will be switched off from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The specific locations listed include Forest Inn, Forest Road, Mbono Road, Pangani Shopping Centre, Agoi Road, Ndovu Inn, Pamba Road, Premier Academy and Jubilee Headquarters, as well as adjacent customers.
The notice further outlines that under Area: Akiba, Kabiyet, the outage will also run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Affected locations include Kabiyet, Akiba, Moi Educational School, Civil Servants estate, Uhuru Camp, Langata Deliverance, part of Dam Estate, Uhuru Camp Police, Total Gas Station, Mbagathi Road, Jonathan Clog School, Airport View Estate, Bible Society and part of Langata Road, together with adjacent customers.
The planned interruption is expected to disrupt normal operations for institutions, small businesses and households within the listed zones for the better part of the day.

The Ilasit Region in Kajiado County will experience a power interruption on Monday, 16 February 2026, from 09:00 to 17:00.
The following locations will experience a power outage: Loitoktok Town, Tarakea, Ilasit; Kimana; Rombo; Elerai; Isinet; Namelock; Inchalai; Itilal; and parts of Mbirikani.

In the Central Rift Region, the areas under Kericho County, which fall under Area: Parts of Bureti, will experience a power interruption from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
According to the notice, Jamjii Powerhouse, Jamjii Tea Factory, Changoi Tea Factory, and Kipkereny Village, among other customers, fall under this region that will be affected by the power interruption.
The power interruption in this region will start a bit earlier than that of Nairobi and Kajiado, while it will also end a bit earlier.
This power interruption, which will be a result of the scheduled maintenance, is a clear indication that the power infrastructure is being improved, although this will be a bit inconvenient for the customers in this region, who will be expected to make alternative arrangements during this time.
