Share

Three-time Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon has been officially confirmed as the headline athlete for the 2026 Monaco Diamond League, returning to the iconic Stade Louis-II on Friday, July 10, where she will compete in the 3,000 metres.

This confirmation comes just two days after Kipyegon made a sensational 10 km road racing debut in the principality.

“She will race the 3000m when she returns to the scene of her world mile record,” the Monaco Diamond League organisers confirmed.

Monaco: A Special Venue for Kipyegon

Monaco holds a special place in Kipyegon’s career. It was at the 2023 Meeting Herculis that she set the women’s world mile record of 4:07.64, leaving an indelible mark on the Stade Louis-II.

Returning to the venue for the 2026 Diamond League, Kipyegon will aim to showcase her exceptional range and continued dominance on the track.

“Monaco has always been a place where I feel I can push my limits,” Kipyegon said after her road racing debut.
