The Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs has issued an urgent advisory to Kenyans residing in or travelling to the Middle East following heightened tensions triggered by reported US-Iran strikes in the region.

In a notice released on Saturday, February 28, 2026, by the State Department for Diaspora Affairs, the government said it is “closely monitoring the evolving security situation in parts of the Middle East” and urged citizens to remain vigilant as the situation remains fluid.

The government called on all Kenyans in the affected region to exercise caution, noting that developments could change without notice.

“We urge all Kenyan citizens residing in, or planning to travel to, the region to exercise heightened vigilance. The situation remains fluid and may change without notice,” the advisory stated.

Kenyans were asked to immediately register with the nearest Kenyan Embassy or Consulate and ensure their contact details, next of kin, and emergency contacts are updated without delay.
