Kenyan Content Creator Stranded Abroad as Fans Drag Her Past Politics

Share

Popular Kenyan content creator Naomi Kuria is facing an unexpected travel nightmare after being stranded abroad following the sudden closure of the airline she had booked to fly her back to Nairobi.

The airline reportedly halted operations in the United Arab Emirates, a move linked to the ongoing Middle East tensions after Israel and US forces launched attacks against Iran.

Naomi shared her predicament on social media, explaining the urgency of her situation:

“I need to be back in Kenya by the end of the week for a major commitment, but I haven’t received clear communication from the airline apart from being advised to apply for a refund.”

With ticket prices skyrocketing, she added:

“Flights with Ethiopian Airlines are going for over $1,000 (Ksh129,000) one way, while other routes are complicated with transits. I’m appealing to fans and travel experts to help me find a quick and affordable solution.”

Fans Remind Her of Past Political Comments

Many Kenyans quickly reminded Naomi of her previous remarks and political stances, linking them to her misfortune.

The content creator had recently backed President Ruto, saying:

“Not everyone who meets President Ruto is a bad person.”

This statement drew backlash at the time, and now some social media users are jokingly blaming her current troubles on her political choices:

@Mike Hulula: “Coming out and backing Kasongo was a preparation for this video. She has been sunk into this mess for a long time and now thinks her affiliation/political stance with Kasongo would help her come out. Just my thoughts.”

@Kavuli Bernard: “Auze hiyo iPhone apate air ticket.”

@The Nomad: “Go to Bangkok, then board KQ to Nairobi.”

@Michael Mulongo: “Wait, we thought BBL pays. We thought women with makeup would live large. We thought being a slay queen is already a win. We thought supporting Ruto automatically makes you rich.”
