The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has issued a public notice warning members of the public against fraudsters purporting to offer employment and tender opportunities in exchange for money.
In the notice titled “Public Notice – Scam Alert,” the Authority said it has become aware of individuals falsely claiming they can secure opportunities at the agency.
KURA cautioned that such claims are fraudulent and should be treated with utmost suspicion.
“The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) notifies members of the public about fraudsters and conmen falsely claiming they can secure: Employment opportunities at KURA; Job awards to implement road works; Supply and tender opportunities for goods and services,” the notice states.
KURA emphasized that it does not charge any fees at any stage of its recruitment or procurement processes.
The Authority clarified that all legitimate opportunities are advertised through official and verified communication platforms.
“Please note KURA does NOT charge any fees for recruitment, job awards, tenders, or supply opportunities. All employment, tender, and procurement opportunities are officially advertised through our verified communication channels,” the Authority said.
The warning comes amid rising cases of job and tender-related scams in Kenya, where unsuspecting applicants and contractors are duped into paying facilitation fees for non-existent positions or contracts.
