Pride of Africa Hits Turbulence: KQ Warns of Delayed Flights & Bags to Mumbai

Share

Kenya Airways, commonly referred to as the “Pride of Africa,” has released an urgent notice to travelers concerning the disruption of flights to and from Mumbai.

According to the notice, the disruption was caused by airspace restrictions as a result of the ongoing conflict in the region and unfavorable weather conditions along the routes.

In a notice released on Sunday, 8th March 2026, the national carrier stated that the additional fuel required to overcome the challenges has affected the ability to carry luggage.

In the notice to travelers, the carrier stated that “some bags may be misconnected and/or delivered on a later flight.”

This may cause travelers to experience delayed luggage.

The national carrier has expressed regret over the inconvenience and reassured travelers that they are working hard to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

In the notice to travelers, the carrier stated that, “our teams in Mumbai and Nairobi are doing everything possible to reconnect the delayed bags with you as soon as possible.”

Operational Challenges Affecting International Travel

Passengers are advised to anticipate delays not only in baggage delivery but also in overall flight schedules.

Kenya Airways explained that navigating the affected airspace requires rerouting and additional fuel reserves, which have strained their operational logistics.
