The Chief of the Defence Forces, Charles Kahariri, on March 10, 2026, visited the Narok Forward Operating Base (FOB) where he engaged officers and service members of the Kenya Air Force and assessed the installation’s operational readiness.

The visit forms part of the CDF’s ongoing engagements with troops across various units and formations within the Kenya Defence Forces aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness, addressing personnel welfare, and reinforcing leadership support to troops on the ground.

General Kahariri was received by the Commander of the Kenya Air Force, Bernard Waliaula, who accompanied him during the visit.

During his address to officers and service members stationed at the base, General Kahariri praised the Kenya Air Force for its professionalism and dedication in safeguarding the country’s airspace and supporting national security operations.

He particularly lauded the Service’s operational responsiveness, highlighting the efforts of its Rapid Response Unit during recent emergency operations.

“The professionalism and dedication demonstrated by the Kenya Air Force in protecting our airspace and supporting national security operations are commendable,” said General Kahariri.

“Your swift response through the Rapid Response Unit during recent flood emergencies greatly assisted civil authorities and showcased the strength of our military support to the nation.”
