Würth Group subsidiary Würth Kenya Ltd has announced it will cease operations in Kenya at the end of May 2026, bringing to a close nearly three decades of business in the country.

In a notice dated March 10, 2026, and addressed to customers, the company confirmed that it will shut down its local operations as part of a broader restructuring of its global operations.

In the notice signed by Managing Director John Anderson, the company thanked customers for their support over the past 29 years while explaining the reason behind the decision.

“We sincerely thank you for the trust and support you have extended to Würth Kenya over the past 29 years. Your continued partnership has been greatly appreciated and has contributed significantly to the growth of our operations in Kenya,” the notice read.

The company stated that the closure follows strategic considerations by the parent company as it reorganises its international operations.

“This decision has been made after careful consideration and forms part of a broader strategic restructuring of the Würth Group’s operations,” the notice added.

Operations to Continue Until May

Despite the planned shutdown, Würth Kenya confirmed that it will continue operating normally until the end of May 2026 to allow for a smooth transition.

According to the notice, the company will work to settle all outstanding obligations and complete existing orders during the wind-down period.

“The company will continue to manage all pending obligations and ensure an orderly transition during this closure period, and we will trade as normal until the end of May 2026,” the statement said.

Customers with ongoing engagements, orders, or accounts have been asked to liaise with the company’s sales and accounts teams to finalize arrangements before the closure.

End of a 29-Year Presence

Würth Kenya has been part of the global Würth Group, a multinational supplier of tools, fasteners, and assembly materials serving industries such as automotive, construction, engineering, and manufacturing.

The exit marks the end of a long-standing presence in Kenya’s industrial supply sector, where the company served garages, manufacturers, and construction firms across the country.
