President William Ruto has made new appointments at the National Land Commission.
In a Special Gazette Notice dated March 12, 2026, the National Land Commission Act (Cap. 281) was invoked by President William Samoei Ruto, appointing a new Chairperson and six commissioners to serve on the National Land Commission (NLC) for a term of six years.
Dr. Abdillahi Saggaf Alawy has been appointed as the Chairperson of the National Land Commission.
His role will include guiding the Commission’s strategic direction and oversight of land management reforms across the country.

The appointment takes effect from March 11, 2026.

In addition to the Chairperson, six new members were named to the Commission.
