The government has issued a safety advisory to spectators attending the 2026 Safari Rally Kenya, urging fans to observe strict safety guidelines during the global motorsport event in Naivasha and surrounding areas.
In a notice shared on its official social media platforms, the Ministry of Interior and National Administration outlined a list of do’s and don’ts for spectators to ensure the safety of rally fans, drivers and local communities during the competition.
The advisory comes as thousands of motorsport enthusiasts flock to Naivasha for the World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally Kenya 2026, one of the most anticipated sporting events in the country.
Authorities noted that rally cars move at high speeds during live stages, making it critical for spectators to remain alert and follow instructions issued by marshals and security officers deployed along the rally routes.
The government has also prohibited the use of drones in designated areas within Naivasha and its surrounding locations during the rally.
“The use of drones is NOT permitted in designated areas within Naivasha and surrounding areas during the World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally Kenya 2026.” the Ministry said.
“Please familiarize with the Spectator Safety Guidelines. Respect the rules and take responsibility in helping keep the event safe.” The notice stated.

Authorities have urged spectators to watch the rally only from designated spectator zones and keep a safe distance from rally roads at all times.
They also advised fans to arrive early since some roads will be closed before rally stages begin, and to park vehicles only in approved areas.
Additionally, spectators have been encouraged to carry water, wear sun protection, and use comfortable footwear while attending the event.
The government further warned spectators against standing on rally roads, crossing roads during live stages, or entering restricted areas.
They were also cautioned against blocking emergency access routes, using unauthorized drones or flash photography near rally cars, lighting fires, damaging the environment, or engaging in disorderly behaviour.
Authorities have urged members of the public to cooperate with security officers and rally marshals to help ensure a safe and successful Safari Rally Kenya 2026.
