Issac Mwaura and Other Notable Alumni of Presbyterian University

The Presbyterian University of East Africa was chartered in 2008, and since then, it has produced graduates who have gone on to excel in various fields and career paths. These are some notable alumni from PUEA.

Isaac Mwaura

Issac Mwaura is the government’s spokesperson at present. He is an alumnus of PUEA.

Honourable Mwaura studied a Diploma in Theology at the Presbyterian University of East Africa (PUEA)

During and after his studies, Mwaura co-founded the Albinism Society of Kenya (ASK), which campaigns for initiatives such as free sunscreen and specialized healthcare for persons living with albinism.

As a former Nominated Senator, he also spoke for inclusive national policies, including making Kenyan currency accessible to the visually impaired and ensuring that intersex persons were counted in the 2019 Census.

Today, he serves as Kenya’s Government Spokesperson and leads the “Sema na Spox” platform, through which he communicates progress on key national projects, such as the Affordable Housing Programme.

Charles Samoei Saina

He pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at PUEA.

Saina’s leadership was recognized with a Presidential Award in early 2026.

Using his nursing expertise, he coordinates national Anti-Drugs and Substance Abuse campaigns across more than 50 institutions, promoting mental well-being and supporting the youth through addiction recovery programs.

He continues to serve as a President’s Award Leader and youth advocate, shaping health and community initiatives nationwide.

Mike Njoroge

Graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration(Management).

Njoroge has professionalized the Presbyterian University Alumni Association (PUAA), creating a structured network that connects current students with corporate opportunities.

He also oversees the PUAA Endowment Fund and runs mentorship programs that help final-year students transition smoothly into professional careers.

He is the current chairperson of PUAA, leading initiatives that strengthen alumni engagement and institutional growth.

Betty Karimi

She pursued a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration.

Karimi has been recognized for her effective application of Strategic Management principles to improve local government service delivery.

She is frequently invited to university leadership summits as a model of ethical administration and transparent governance.

She currently serves as Public Service Administrator, overseeing initiatives that enhance public-sector efficiency and accountability.

Kiprono Stephen

Did a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Criminology.

He is a 2018 graduate specializing in Criminology and Fraud Management. Stephen was fast-tracked into officer training due to his strong academic foundation. He has helped implement modern surveillance strategies and fraud detection protocols within national security operations.

He is now a cadet officer in the National Security Forces, serving as a key example of PUEA’s contribution to public safety.
