How to Watch Mbavu vs Majembe Boxing Match for Fans Not Attending Physically

Ferdinand Omondi, popularly known as Mbavu Destroyer, is set to face Portifas Odipo, also known as Majembe, in a highly anticipated amateur boxing match dubbed Vurugu Fight Night.

The figt will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi, starting at 3:00 PM EAT, with the main event scheduled for later in the evening at 10:00PM.

Mbavu Destroyer, 25, was raised and lives in Nairobi’s Eastlands area, while Majembe is a 21-year-old amateur boxer from Kisumu.

The match will be commentated by renowned movie narrator James Mwangi, popularly known as DJ Afro, adding an entertainment touch to the event.

How the Rivalry Between Mbavu and Majembe Started

The rivalry began on TikTok, where the two exchanged boxing clips and challenges that quickly went viral, eventually attracting the attention of comedian and promoter Oga Obinna, who organized the event.

Obinna has since rallied support from several prominent public figures and celebrities. President William Ruto pledged Ksh 1 million to each boxer for training and an additional KSh 2 million to purchase tickets for fans.

His son, George Ruto, contributed Ksh 500,000, while Oburu Odinga donated KSh 1 million to support youth talent. Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor helped promote the fight and delivered the President’s support, while Kasarani MP Ronald Karauri pledged KSh 2 million. Second Lady Dorcas Rigathi purchased 400 tickets worth KSh 400,000. The winner will walk away with a Toyota Noah and KSh 1 million, in addition to the KSh 1 million pledged to each fighter.

How to Watch the Match

For those unable to attend physically at the Kasarani Indoor Arena , tickets, which were retailing at Ksh 1,000, are already sold out, the fight will be streamed live online.

Fans can watch by visiting the Madfun website, selecting the “Streams” section, and clicking on “Watch Now,” where they will be required to pay a Ksh 200 online ticket for livestream access.

Alternatively, clips and possible unofficial streams may also be available on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook Live, and TikTok.

The fight has also attracted attention from several celebrities who have openly voiced their support for different fighters. Award-winning rapper Khaligraph Jones has publicly thrown his weight behind Majembe.

Meanwhile, Kameme FM presenter Muthoni wa Kirumba (Baby Top) has also been a vocal supporter of Majembe, expressing full confidence in his victory.
